Obituary

Timothy "Tim" James Esau, age 84, a devoted family man, hardworking entrepreneur, and faithful servant of God, passed peacefully after a full and well-lived life. Born on May 26, 1940, in Wichita, Kansas to Gerhard (Guy) and Bernice Esau, as the fifth of nine children. Tim's journey was marked by deep faith, a tireless work ethic, and a love for both the skies and the simple joys of life. Before becoming a teenager, his family moved to Irving, Texas before settling in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Tim graduated from Central High School in 1958. On April 25, 1962, he married Mary Levera Priore, and together they raised four children. Tim and his family moved to the current home in Catoosa on April 1, 1974. He loved the outdoors, especially working in his yard and feeding the birds at his home for 50 years. That home also became a beloved gathering place for family, where many cherished memories were made.

From an early age, Tim displayed an incredible sense of responsibility and drive. He started his working life with a paper route and, by the age of 18, was managing a Get n Go convenience store. He went on to start his own inventory service, often flying himself to jobs in other states after obtaining his small aircraft pilot's license. Later, he founded a janitorial service and eventually purchased a janitorial supply business, B-Clean Supply. Tim poured his energy into his business until he retired in 2016.

Tim married Barbara Ann Miller, on November 19, 1993, his wife of over 30 years. Barbara and Tim married after only 5 weeks. Tim was devoted to Barbara driving her to ladies' groups and Bible studies. Barbara was equally devoted to him, caring for him after he underwent spinal surgery 5 years ago, made necessary due to side effects of the medications taken for his crippling rheumatoid arthritis.

Though he considered full-time ministry in the early 1970s, Tim chose to serve as a layperson, faithfully supporting the church and his community throughout his life. He attended several churches in his lifetime, but in his later years, he and Barbara became devoted members of Life. Church Central Tulsa. When the Catoosa campus opened, they faithfully served on the host team and led many small groups. Tim was deeply committed to his church family and made a lasting impact on those he encountered. Known for his resilience, strength, and faith, he was a hardworking husband, father, grandfather, and friend who touched countless lives.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; his children Timothy Esau II, Mary McKisick and husband Dan, Michelle Bradshaw and husband Gary, and Elizabeth Crampton and husband Stacy; and his stepchildren Amy McCullough and husband Dan, Christopher Miller, and Trisha Taylor and husband David. Tim was a proud grandfather to 14 grandchildren: Brandon McKisick and wife Lexi, Rachel Purdum and husband Hylton, Megan McKisick, Allison Johnson and husband Kobe, Gabrielle Crampton, siblings James, Jessica, and Jordan Bradshaw, Kenzie McCullough, Carter McCullough and wife Elizabeth "Libby," Brianna Troup and husband Parker, brothers Ethan, Caleb, and Micah Taylor. He was also blessed with one great-grandchild, Leo McCullough.

He is preceded in death by his siblings Gary Esau, Fred Esau, Bernice Swetland, David Esau, Joel Esau, Karen Esau, and Steven Esau. He is survived by his brother Mark Esau and wife Loretta, sister-in-law Gloria Esau, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Tim's life will be held at 1100 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Life.Church Catoosa (19603 E Admiral Pl, Catoosa, OK 74015).
