Obituary

Tommy Reese Lawley, a retired firefighter, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2013, at the age of 65 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tommy was born December 11, 1947, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Samuel Andrew and Betty Jo (Cookson) Lawley. Tommy was a decorated Veteran of the United States Army and of the Vietnam Conflict. Tommy is survived by his mother Betty Jo Lawley; his wife Charlotte Frances (Walker) Lawley; children: Tommy Reese Lawley, Jr. and wife Traci, children Tyler, Rowdy, Abby, Reese, Marilyn Tommy E. and grandson Aeden; Charles Walker Lawley and wife Marcie, children Walker, Eli, Matt John; Kevin McCracken Lawley and wife Shannon, children Kaylea and Kannon ; Kaylene Frances (Lawley) Hale and husband Joe, children Garrett and Sara. 3 brothers: Robert Lawley and wife Nola, Andy Lawley and wife Valerie, Joe Lawley and wife Karen. Father and mother -in-law: ONeil and Betty Walker, 2 brothers- in-law: Randy Walker and wife Virginia, and David Walker and wife Chris. The family would like to acknowledge numerous beloved nieces and nephews and special friends: J.E. and Thelissa Williams family and Santos and Hope Lopez family. He was preceded in death by Grannie and Grandpa Cookson Grannie and Grandpa Lawley. Tommy met the love of his life, Charlotte in 1965. When he returned from Vietnam, the couple married 11 days later on March 14th 1969. Throughout the years their love continued to grow and strengthen with the birth of their children and grandchildren. Their love epitomized Mark 10:9, "What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate." He enjoyed driving his tractors, fishing, farming and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed hunting treasures at flea markets and attending fur feather swaps and exotic animal sales. Tommy was always known to have a smile on his face and to have never met a stranger. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. 2 Timothy 4:7 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." Private Family Services will be held.
