Obituary

Sue Dobbs Woodcock, 83, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2019, in Claremore, OK due to complications of Dementia. She was surrounded by loving caregivers from CURA Hospice and Brookdale Assisted Living in Claremore where she had lived since July 2018. Vada Sue Greer was born December 13, 1935 in Peacock, TX to B.I. and Bendetta Greer (McDonald). Sue graduated from Elida High School in 1953 and married Ray Dobbs, of Floyd, on August 27, 1955. They were married for 44 years before Ray preceded her in death in 1999. Sue was always happy, loving, and kind, with a big heart and beautiful green eyes. She was a wonderful homemaker and cook, especially white gravy, hot rolls, cornbread dressing, and homemade ice cream. Sue was a member of the Farwell Church of Christ and taught a childrens Bible class for many years. She loved decorating and cooking for the holidays, angels, unique rocks, and the simple things in life. She especially loved music and jitterbug dancing with her sister, Billie Faye Bass, who preceded her in death in 2009. A beloved niece, Bendetta Plyler, preceded her in death in 2012. After Ray's death, Sue moved to Clovis. Having lived in the country for the majority of her life, this was a major transition. She became very involved with the Senior Citizen Center serving as Treasurer and President, cooking weekly breakfasts, participating in Senior Olympics and volunteering for Meals on Wheels. She made numerous friends while dancing in Clovis and the surrounding areas. Sue found love again in 2006 and married Eugene Woodcock who preceded her in death in 2016. She moved to live with her daughter, Kelly, in Wagoner, OK where she enjoyed sitting outdoors admiring the beautiful flowers and birds of Oklahoma. Cherishing their Mother's memory are two daughters and their husbands, Kelly and Raymond Trammell of Wagoner, OK, and Tracy and Alex Romero, of Albuquerque, NM. Loving her and calling her "Granny" are Sara Beth Garcia of Clovis, NM and children Ruben, Breanna, and Nathan, Brooke Romero and Wyatt Lawson-Hall of Albuquerque, NM and daughter Maria, and Savanah Romero of Albuquerque, NM. Sue is survived by her brother Jimmy and Judy Greer of Mimbres, NM, and nieces Julie, Jill, and Joni and their families, nephew Mark and Lynda Bass of Clovis, NM, and many other loving family and friends. A private interment will be held at Portales Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with Ray Dobbs. All family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life to be held at Baxter-Curren Activity Center in Clovis on August 24th at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the New Mexico Christian Children's Home in Portales, NM, the Alzheimer's Association, or a favorite charity. Arrangements are being handled by the caring staff of the Cremation Society of Oklahoma, where an online registry is available at www.tulsacremation.com. Legacy Touch Code: DNA2BZ8W
