A memorial service to honor the life of Vivian Alice Deckard will be 10 a.m. on Monday Jan. 16th at Faith Baptist Church. Also known endearingly as "Sis" to her Family. Vivian passed into the arms of her Lord on Tuesday Jan. 10th. Born October 31st 1936 in Jenks OK. Vivian was the middle child of the family. The Deckard family moved to the Timber Ridge area in Catoosa where she attended the Lone Star and Catoosa schools. Eventually, they made Claremore their permanent home. Family was important to "Sis", though she didnt have children of her own, she spent much time with her nieces and nephews cooking, playing games, and picnics at the lake. Vivian was faithful to take care of both of her parents making sure their needs were met. Vivian was not only a caretaker of her parents, but also was a diligent housekeeper for several families in Claremore. Just as family was important, so was her faith in Christ. Not only was she a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church, but faithful in studying Gods word and living it out in her life as she demonstrated a life of contentment. Vivian spent her last six years as a favorite resident at the Wood Manor nursing home and could always be found reading or working puzzle books in which she always had serveral boxes on reserve so she would not run out! Vivian wilt be missed by many, mostly by her surviving sister-in laws, Pat Deckard and Shirley Deckard Goodmon. Nieces Sharon Zwosta and husband Norbert, Cathy Ford and husband Brad, and Sue Deckard. Nephew Eddie Deckard and wife Beth. Ten great nieces and nephews and six great great nieces and nephews. Vivian was proceeded in death by her parents, John F. and Letha Deckard, John A.
