Walter Schnoor, 88, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on July 22, 2022. Walter was born May 3, 1934, in Kiel, Germany. With hard times came small blessings, and as the Volkswagen Beetle grew in popularity, the demand for skilled mechanics grew. In 1958, Volkswagen allowed Walter to journey to the United States and begin work in Tulsa, OK. Walter had love of two things—Peggy Green and soccer. He and Peggy were married in 1960. Walter helped start the Tulsa International Soccer club, the first adult soccer league along with Green Country Soccer Association. In 1980, he became the first University of Tulsa Soccer Coach for 6 seasons. In 2006 was inducted into the Oklahoma Soccer Hall of Fame in in addition to cars and soccer, Walter also loved boats and water—enjoying many hours on Grand Lake with his family. Walter was preceded in death by wife Peggy and grandson Georg. Walter is survived by Son Rick, Daughter Pat and her husband Jeff, Daughter Carrie and her husband Matt, Daughter Christi and her husband Eric. Grandson: Alan Granddaughters: Katie, Samantha, Canaan, Peyton, McKenzie and Maddie and Great Granddaughter Isabelle, Oliver and Eloise. His sister Irene and half-brother Arnold and as well as many more loving family members. Family will be having a private service.
