Wesley Austin Burton, age 58 (1955-2014) Wes hit his last drive Sunday, January 19, 2014 after a valiant battle with cancer. His father, John, preceded him in death. Wes is survived by his mother Betty, sister Cheryl, Aunts Helen, Virgie and Charlotte and many cousins, dear friends and beautiful caregivers, Ken and Nancy Post. Wes spent his adult life as a professional golfer and teaching pro in Long Island, NY, Buenos Aires, Argentina and Miami, FL. His touring career over the past 30 years included playing the South American Tour as well as The Champions Tour after qualifying for the U.S. Senior Open with a record low 64 qualifying score in 2007.
