William "Roger" Montgomery, 69, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on January 21, 2026, at 3:20 p.m. at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 6720 SE Adams Boulevard, Bartlesville, Oklahoma. The service will be available live on zoom https://zoom.us/j/588015770?pwd=Q0FoK0ZwTGNwdGhYYVdCT3BiVDRkZz09
Roger was born on October 9, 1956, in New Lexington, Ohio, to William Bruce Montgomery and Anna Mae (Davis) Montgomery. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on January 10th, 1971 in Zanesville, Ohio. He built a long and respected career as a master electrician and also held licenses in HVAC and boiler operation. Over the years, he worked in various roles until a job-related injury led to his early retirement.
In 2018, Roger moved to Bartlesville, where he met the love of his life. He and Joann were married in 2021 and shared many happy adventures together. They enjoyed traveling in their camper, often accompanied by friends and family, and sometimes setting out on their own. Roger had a passion for antiquing and especially treasured time spent with his children, grandchildren, and friends.
In 2024, he returned to the workforce as the Outdoor Manager at Atwoods, where he found great enjoyment in his work and formed many meaningful friendships.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Bruce Montgomery; his mother, Anna Mae (Davis) Montgomery; and his brother, Richard Montgomery.
Roger is survived by his wife, Joann Montgomery; his stepchildren, Sarah Short and her husband, Jack; Casey McDaniel and his wife, Amy; and Autumn Ayala and her husband, Jose; and eight grandchildren: Jordan, Kate, Wyatt, Caleb, Ayden, Levi, Elio and Adalyn. He is also survived by his brother, Daniel French Montgomery and his wife, Diane; six nieces; and two nephews.
He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and the joy he found in life's simple adventures.
