George Nathan "Boo" Dewberry, 49, of Ponca City, Ok passed away
on December 25, 2016 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. George
was born on February 16, 1967 in Ponca City, Ok to Rosie Mae Dewberry
and Nathaniel Smith.
George attended Ponca City Public Schools. He was an athletic standout
and excelled at baseball and his academic studies. He went on to work
a variety of jobs. Boo, as he was lovingly called, loved sports, OU football,
fishing, sweet treats, and his family and friends. He was an animated
story teller! Boo had an infectious laugh and a warm, inviting smile.
He brought joy to all those around him. George never met a stranger and
had many, many friends. He had a special relationship with his grandmother
Idella and his great grandmother Rosella,
Survivors include: his father Nathaniel Smith, his sisters Natalie Smith,
Latoya Smith, and Jean Love, brother Ryan "Buddy" Dewberry,
aunts and uncles; Carl Dewberry, Leonard Dewberry Jr. and his wife Bobbie,
Cecelia Dewberry, Mary Ann Moore and her husband Kermit, Jan Slaten and
her husband Joe, Jackie Dewberry, Anthony Dewberry, Bruce Phillips; nieces:
Alleygra Smith and Breeonna Smith along with a host of cousins, extended
family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his Mother Rosie Mae
Dewberry, grandparents George and Idella Boby, Leonard Dewberry Sr., and
Rosella Frazier, and his cousin Darrell Eugene Harding.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 7,2017
at Attucks Community Center, 1001 S. 12th Street, Ponca City, Ok, 74601.
