Concluding Financial Affairs
Legal Certified Death Certificate copies may be needed for the following to conclude the financial affairs of the deceased:
- Life insurance policies
- Bank/credit union accounts
- Property held by the deceased (homes/automobiles)
- Stocks, bonds or other securities
- Loan companies
- Social Security or other benefit programs
- Lawyer and probate
Process & Timeline
At the time of cremation arrangements following a death, our cremation specialist generates and files the original Oklahoma Death Certificate with the State Department of Health. Each Certified Death Certificate copy is $16.50. NOTE: All of our Cremation Plans include 1 Certified Death Certificate Copy. We will ask you how many annidtional certified copies you want to order initially. Additional copies may be obtained from the Oklahoma State Health Department for a fee per copy.
Please allow 10 to 14 working days before the State Health Department releases them.
